TODAY'S MENU {Pink Candy Chicken Bones}

{Anything but a Dead Man}
I know I should be blogging about April showers and whatever obvious lore that come to mind, but in honour of April Fool's Day I decided to go a different route...Dead Man's Bones, the goth-folk-cabaret band that's got me in deep (dare I say 6 ft?). A little morbid-sounding I'll admit, but you can't help but let the rhythm take over your body and Lose Your Soul. A collaboration with the Silverlake Conservatory Children's Choir, Ryan Gosling and Zach Shields (music neophytes) truly prove themselves as talented, innovative musicians, and they're Canadian, woohoo!

{Take Flight}
From the time I was a little girl I have loved the excitement of flying (it is definitely my super power of choice). As I've gotten older I've begun to think of the airport as one of the most romantic places you can find yourself. Whether backpacking Europe, moving across the country or visiting a loved one, there is always a story that goes along with a boarding pass.

My very own airport extension, one of my favourite French alternative rock bands, Phoenix.

TODAY'S MENU {Blood Oranges}

With Halloween just around the corner and the premiere of Twilight fast approaching, vampires are EVERYWHERE (it's a challenge just to flick three channels before you're powerless to yet another blood-sucking prime-time).

Vampires are known for causing mass hysteria so their recent media attention should come as no surprise, which is why I have decided to fall victim to the creature du jour, part and parcel, indie rock band Vampire Weekend.
These four native New Yorkers may have only signed in 2006, but they're already making their mark with playlist-worthy tracks, influenced by African and Western-Classical music. They're new album Contra is set to be released in January 2010.
